Case Study 3
Mr B, is frail and unsteady on stairs and is unsure of himself when going to the toilet. The My Amego™ system was configured to send an alert when he approached a stairway, or was on the stairway and he if didn't go to the toilet or took more than a certain time in the WC.
Mr B is on the stairs or a landing, or is very close to these, then an alert is sent.
If Mr B doesn't go to any of the WCs in the home for two and half hours then a notification is sent to the carers to remind them to ask Mr B if he would like to go to the toilet.
In the case of Mr B being in the WC for more than 10 minutes an alert is sent to a specified individual (in this case the team leader) because it has been decided that specialised intervention may be required.
It has been determined that Mr B should not associate with Mr D or Mr E, since they tend to argue with him and this causes him distress. Thus when Mr B comes within a given distance of Mr D or Mr E, an alert is triggered and a care worker can intervene to divert one or more of the individuals concerned.
